Yeah, it’s so good to be back… after those tiring days. Haven’t been updating my blog. Hmm… lets see, so what I’ve been up to for the past 2 weeks?
I was definitely busy with school projects. Only 2 subjects, but that is enough to make me the busiest person in the world! Oh sorry.. too much exaggeration here. Imagine printing more or less 300 pictures (3R-sized) for my visual file project in Constructing the Screenworld class! Pheeewww… it was so tiring, wasn’t even able to get a nap that night. I was busy decorating the visual file that consists of pictures. It’s fun, it’s just that it’s time consuming. Thank God it’s over, I managed to submit it on time. But that’s not the end of the story, I’ll be having a group meeting tomorrow at 2 PM, to discuss the group project. Yeah, it’s a production course, so there is no way I could skip the urgent meeting. Good for the rest of my group mates, because they have Hollyweek, so they do not have to escape from work. I have to file a vacation leave on the second half, from my team lead. We’ll meet at Starbucks Vito Cruz to discuss all the details.
And with my Media Criticism class… this one is even more horrible. I had to do a book presentation, Nick Deocampo’s “Cine: Spanish Influences on Early Cinema in The Philippines.” I had to force myself to read that 450 pages book in 5 days. (something that I rarely do). It was not bad actually, I read in my spare times at the office. Asked for a Vacation leave on Friday to prepare and polish my presentation, and what happened??? It was denied! Coz there’ll be a Team Meeting on Friday afternoon. Adding to my frustrations, I was asked to come on Saturday morning for SF65 training. So… perfect! I had to sacrifice myself in the end, I just had 1 hour sleep last Saturday, and came to the office @ 9am for training, and escaped @ 11am, for my 12nn class. Imagine reporting over 64 powerpoint slides, when u just have 1 hour nap?! It may be tedious but heyyy, I fed my classmates with snacks, so they shouldn’t feel bored! Hahaha… promised that I’ll reward myself after I’m done with the presentation. I didn’t think of anything spectacular, I just need long hours sleep. So the moral of the story is, “expect the unexpected” =) next, i'll be working on my final paper, planning to discuss feminism in Mga Munting Tinig. Before i read those heavy readings for my final paper, another reward is that I’ll read on Janet Lowe’s “Oprah Winfrey Speaks”. I admire Oprah so much, she is a woman of influence, she has been able to make an emotional connection and touch the lives of audience everywhere. I’m certain that I’ll get inspired and i'll learn a lot from that book.
Ok, lets move on… few days ago, I was communicating with my mom through sms, asked when will I finish my studies, she wants me to come back home. I knew she miss me. Ade has turn out to be a teenager, and is probably busy with his friends or girlfriend. She usually spends time with Bibi at home, or just hangout with her close friends. I’m glad Tyan is around to be my Mom’s companion. (Tyan is my Mom's Persian kitten, given by my auntie, Bi Idah) Bet she loves Tyan very much. Once she brought Tyan to Bi Idah’s house in Depok, all she wanted to do is to let Tyan meet the mother cat. Hahaha… this is funny… how sweet, my Mom thought that Tyan would be happy to meet his own mom. Mom ended up telling me that the mother cat and Tyan do not recognize each other anymore… =D Niwayz, Mom is still uncertain when Dad is gonna be back home, I guess he is still busy with his short assignment in Tawau. I was browsing news in the net and check out what came across: Liputan 6.
Went to the Cultural Center of the Philippines with Anis and JJ last Sunday, watched the Reog Ponorogo Dance Drama (the drama of the peacock and tiger). They did well, great attractions. See the pictures below. (oh yeah, that is Anis in the middle picture) she was chosen among the rest because she looks ehm.. chubby? (oops…) she was told to step on a man laying down on durians… ouch… went straight away to G4 after the show, watched Spanglish… I think I’m falling in love with Adam Sandler… =) damn!
